Sammy Sultan Interviews: Justin Hayward (Full Interview)
I sooo love Justin Hayward ❤️
Wow! I remember Johnny Ray!
Such a fantastic interview! Thank you for posting this...Big Moodies fan here since I first heard 'Days of Future Past' as a teenager in the early 70s.
Absolutely wonderful interview with a wonderful man. Humble, kind and honest. Thank you for sharing 🙂😊.
Been a Moody's fan and bought almost all your records I'm 64 my father was a johnny ray fan his hit was cry cry cry. Wow Justin my father as well is up there in heaven as well. God bless you bringing back some great memories.
Just found this. Lovely! So nicely done. A wonderful presentation of Justin Hayward, the Moodies, a musical tour through decades, and the times I've lived in.
A terrific interview of the truly wonderful Justin Hayward, by a host who asked intelligent questions without any fawning and was rewarded with fascinating responses. To have asked about the contract he signed as a teenager, and the subsequent enormous financial impact of it, was a brave thing for any interviewer to broach, but was answered with humble candour.
FANTASTIC INTERVIEW - much respect for Justin Hayward- just watched a John Lodge interview also FANTASTIC - you guys exhibit such class - the BEATLES AND MOODYS my favorite BRIT bands- seen MOODYS in person - concert in Detroit - LOVED IT-grew up listening to Beatles and Moodys and all the incredible music that came out of the 60/70's- fantastic time for all forms of music.
Lovely interview. There was never a boring moment. Justin is my favorite singer/songwriter. I listen to him every day.
Just in time Justin ✌️ You healed my soul ❤️ hold your peace ✌️🕊️🕊️🕊️ always
As always, Thank you for love and support 😊
I'd only wish that Sammy's lapel microphone was properly operating; we can clearly hear Justin on mic, hence Sammy's voice is trying hard to siphon into Justin's. Yet still, the overall interview went quite, quite well. BolsaChicaRadio
Greatest!
verry good. keep it up.
Oh it's so lucky Justin couldn't see the closed captions. The person typing should be fired. ie: "February 26th. Now we come to your next solo album - your worst since 1996" NB: What Sammy said was 'first' not 'worst'!!
@@JustinHayward-su1ww FAKE JH😡
Such a great talent. His songwriting is something of a template to follow.
What an absolute pleasure this was thank you Justin and Sammy
The way I look at him , yes he is no doubt of it!and he is my contemporary born same year 1946.Thanks for sharing this beautiful interview!
This is such a great interview. Pertinent questions, and unlike some interviewers, Sammy actually listens and allows Justin to speak! Love Justin; my all time favourite singer/songwriter 😍
Thank you so much for love and support
I go back and watch this interview time to time, good stuff! Thank you!
Awesome interview. Big Moody Blues Fan. Fantastic music.
We still love the moody blues 💙
The best concert I ever saw was the Moody Blues with the Chattanooga Festival Orchestra in Chattanooga, TN.
Can’t hear it.
Justin is an amazing musician! Thankfully his parents understood his talent!
I love the Western Skies you speak of Justin as I am drawn to the Western coast of Scotland visiting there often and even wrote a poem on the Mull of Galloway about it being only 2000 miles to America as it is in view of the open sea with no land mass until you reach America and recently I stayed at New Quay in West Wales and snapped up some lovely sunrises and horizon pictures across New Quay harbour and Cardigan bay...love what you say there about the western skies...they can be quite stunning. 🌅 Spirits of the Western Sky is a great name for your solo album my favourite tracks being Broken Dream and Your Blue Eyes 💕 Thankyou for mentioning Matt Cardle and his cover of Nights was phenomenal. I am a fan and saw him perform live locally, he’s made a few albums and starred in a number of West End musicals with that wonderful long range voice he has….until the pandemic cut him short like a lot of actors and singers out there, he’s still making music putting himself out there, hoping to see him again one day when he comes up my way or where I happen to be. 😊 I enjoyed your recent solo tour last year in Sept 2022 and it was the best solo show I’ve seen live of you, was great with the added flautist she was very talented and Mike’s guitar was phenomenal Julie is great with keys and harmonies, hope to see you again one day….Thank-you for the Music ❤
The world has been blessed by Justin’s talent and humble personality for 55 years. What a gift to the world his music has been.
It is almost as great a pleasure to listen to Justin talk as to listen to his wonderful transcendent music.
When I was a young man I wanted to be like Hayward. Still do. What a great guy.
It's almost an insult to bring up Justin Bieber whilst talking to Justin Hayward.
This was great! Thanks!
I love the Moody Blues. Justin’s voice is filled with emotion, which is very appealing.
Sammy Sultan, your voice is too far away and your words are not clear. You sound as if you were at the other end of a large, empty church. Thankfully, Justin Hayward’s voice is closer and clear so I can figure out what you asked him.
The Moody Blues group was one I always liked growing up since the Nights in White Satin days and now when I'm 65 or rather that I am 65 it's pretty much the the music group I really listen to mostly when I'm not chasing brand new music.
Man, that Billy Wilder quote about awards was hilarious and so true. I know it will never happen but I wish Days of Future Past would be re-mixed to eliminate all the add on orchestral stuff which is unbearable at times. The band’s songs don’t need that kind of filler to work. I put it on the other day and couldn’t get through it due to the over fruitful orchestrations. I’m glad they didn’t carry on with that in the subsequent albums.
Justin I'm American so I love the way he speaks. He seems very intelligent. The interview was very interesting.I. think Justin is one of the best entertainers ofall time.personalĺy he seems hùmbĺe añd kìnd wìth a gŕeat personality. Thank you Justin for aĺl tĥe great music all these yeàrs. God Bless.
'Forever Autumn' is a beautiful and poignant masterpiece that transends time. Thank you Justin.
This was the man who sang "Nights In White Satun."I'd love to have a sit-down with this legend.
Does anyone know where this interview was recorded? Is this Monaco ?
One of the things I want from Justin Hayward is the story behind "Cities". The vehemence of the lyrics does suggest that there is one.
Justin......................What a Class Act.
What a timelessly handsome man. I find him more talented on many levels than so many musicians, including Elvis. I do love Elvis' music as well, don't get me wrong. But do I listen to Elvis or Justin more? Indeed! So open and honest in this interview. Does he know how handsome he has always been? I don't think so! Very humble and realistic. My own dear husband chased a music career all his life and it just didn't happen for his talented self. Most don't get a chance at a contract regardless of their talents. Perhaps he should have gone to London instead of coming here to Nashville. He almost made it, but Martin Delray chose to drop out of showbiz at the top of his career breaking my husband's heart. Learn a vocation young musicians because becoming a famous musician or in a band that makes it is so very rare.
Wonderful!
Great interview, very informative & respectful. Love Justin, so down to earth. Humble & modest. A very intelligent man hard to find in today's rock & roll music.
Great interview - loved it. Just found it today 1/10/2022!
Such a humble man and such a huge talent...unusual combination.
I can relate to this. I just finished my 15 rosary poems. Some of them were just a few pius themes I had writen but wanting a compleat cycle I pressed on and finally finshed them.
Terrific informative interview with one of THE GREATEST musicians of the 20th/21st century. Justin Hayward's combined talent of songrwriting, arranging, lead and backing vocals, acousitc and electric guitar work is simply astounding to me. He has been a HUGE influence on many including myself. He is SO grounded , articulate and humble....a rarity in the music & entertainment business.
A true English Gentleman. Well done. 👍
It’s now November 2021, I’m a little late than all of you. My husband and I got even closer listening and going to the Moody Blues concerts, some with full orchestra and some by themselves up close. I stared at Justin each concert and clapped so hard I lost the emerald stone from my ring my husband gave me. We love their music. It takes us to a different world. Wish we all can live forever and stay young to keep enjoying their music. Forever Moody Blues lovers we are!! 💜💜
I always loved the cosmic tint and general poetic beauty of life reflected in their music, so humane and understanding.
Well said. I understand what you mean having had my own life long experience of listening and enjoying the music of the Moody Blues and having the opportunity (and privilege) of attending two concerts, first in 1972 Baltimore Maryland and second in 2013 Seattle Washington.
I really enjoyed the interview & what a lovely talented man Justin is & very down to earth. My hubby & I love the Moody Blues.
Spot on! I LOVE him and everything he and the MB;s ever did - will ALWAYS be my very favorite!
